Revival in Mawlynnong

New Life in Asia’s cleanest village

January 29th, 2007

Bah Knight, elder for 50 years at the Nongsawlia Presbyterian in Sohra and a few others visited Mawlynnong Village on 18th January. This village has been awarded the cleanest village in Asia. Bah Knight said that not only was the village clean, it had the highest literacy as well. The best news followed as he said in a telephonic interview, ‘New life has come here as well. Revival has broken out in the area in the Presbyterian churches as well as the CNI (Church of North India) churches in the area.’

Synod to pray for Revival in Wales

January 29th, 2007

The Presbyterian Synod met last week and decided to regularly pray for revival to break out in Wales like it has in Shillong. There is a sense of debt that Shillong owes to the Welsh who brought the revival fire to the Khasi and Jaintia hills.

Paralyzed Man Walks!

The testimony of Clifford Kharsymtiew

January 25th, 2007

Yesterday Sheila Cherian met with Clifford Kharsymtiew from Shillong and this is his story. He had been a black sheep in the family. Over the years he got into drugs and alcohol and lost everything. He had to close down his work and did not have money even for food.

On 13 February 2005, he had a accident and a truck ran over him, crushing his lumber vertebrae in his spine. Even the renowned CMC Vellore hospital said nothing could be done. He could however hobble around a little. In April 2006 he went into a coma. When he awoke he was paralyzed and become completely bed-ridden. Though his maid was around for a long time, she left saying ’I cant take care of you any more. God has to do that. Why don't you call on Him?’

Clifford took that to heart and began calling out to Jesus. That very afternoon his sister Audrey who had not been in touch with him for months, called and told him about Bah Khlain, a man used mightily by God in the healing ministry. The next day Bah Khlain came with Ricky Syngkon and Audrey. Praying over him and giving him a spoon of anointed oil, Clifford immediately got up.

However his old habits kicked in. That whole night he spent with his friends. The next morning his was again paralyzed! He frantically called Bah Khlain. This time the remedy was different. Bah Khlain told him, ‘Your body can be healed, but it is your spirit that needs to be healed first.’ And so began daily bible studies for the next two months. At the end of it, on 28th of June, Bah Khlain prayed again, gave him the anointed oil and the man was immediately raised from the sick bed! The word he received was, ‘It is easy for Me to heal you. But will you serve me?’

The Feather Story

January 22nd, 2007

Sanjiv and Sushila Ailawadi were in Shillong recently, and this is their story. Sometime before going, they had been praying in the terrace along with their friends in New Delhi. The sky was filled with altocumulus clouds—white fluffy clouds that form at 6500 to 20,000 feet. An oval opening appeared and a cirrus cloud (that form at 20,000 ft and above) in the shape of a feather appeared. Now this is very unusual and the picture appears on the right.

Sanjiv writes, ‘we took the photo after we recovered from our shock! By this time the oval was already filling with clouds.’ The story does not end there. When they went to Shillong they met with Unity, who told them about how the revival broke out at Kutmadan. The Lord had told her that two angels would bring a bird to the church and revival would break out. That is exactly what happened. This bird—which is not a local species– sat on the pulpit for 4 days and 3 nights without flying away. It ate some grain from Unity’s hand and then actually offered a feather to her! Unity has the feather and when Sanjiv and Sushila saw it, it looked similar to the picture. Later Unity had a vision of a gold bowl with five feathers in it. Could this point to five waves of revival in different parts?

Psa 91:4a  He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall trust.
Society Change? Yes, its happening!

January 16th, 2007

In an interview with Mr. Friday Lyngdoh, Minister with the Meghalaya Government he said that the changes in society were real. Had he seen any of the big signs of the revival, like the glowing cross at Malki? “No, I have not. But I have seen the street outside my house. The people who used to stand around in the dark—drunk and swearing—have reduced a lot. Many broken families have got together. Yes, many people have experienced change.”

Oh Hell, its Real.

January 12th, 2007

One of the stunning revelations that have come out of this revival is the present and pressing reality of hell. Yes, there have been visions of angels and heaven. Yet literally hundreds of children and adults have had unspeakable vision after vision of hell. This is not something that we want to hear. We want to hear about heaven.

Many have had visions of their fathers and mothers being dragged to hell by demons. Yet another of going to hell himself. One young girl had a vision of her pastor and elders in hell.

Hell is real and many, including those who are reading this now, may find themselves in the eternal fire, marched there by the ‘king of terrors’. A study of Jesus will tell you that he spoke much about hell.

For the purpose of keeping the identities of these people secure, we will not reveal names. Instead here is a link to a website that tells the story of a man called Bill Wiese who went to hell and lived to tell the story in 23 minutes in Hell

Read it, take action. Repent for the time is short.

Journey Back to Wales!

January 9th, 2007

In an interesting twist, Mizo pastors are now heading to Wales - the very country from where Welsh pastors first came to Shillong and other parts of Meghalaya and Mizoram.

The English daily 'The Times of India' recently highlighted this interesting trend. In their article in Dec 2006 they quote: "We were headhunters back then in the 1890s. They came and converted us. The descendants of headhunters are now teaching them the essence of Christianity," said Rev. Z John Malswama Colney, a priest from Mizoram who's a pastor in Wales.

"The church there is not in a good health. Now they are counting on us for a revival. We did the best we can. We have currently two pastors in Wales," said Rev. Chanchinmawia, moderator of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church, the state's largest Christian denomination.

Remembering Thomas Jones
This is a good time to recall the struggles of these doughty Welshmen to whom the Khasis in particular owe so much. We visited Sohra, where one Welshman, Thomas Jones, had a profound influence on the Khasi tribals in particular. Though underfunded and inadequately trained, he did not lack in raw courage and spunk.  He trekked through mountains and dangerous forests for 6 months to reach this place - at that time a settlement of the English. There he struggled enormously with the corrupt and oppressive Assistant to the Political Agent Harry Inglis.

Today he is revered as the founding father of the Khasi alphabet and literature. Thomas Jones died of malaria contracted in the jungles while fleeing Inglis. He died at the young age of 32 on 16th September 1849 in Calcutta.

Playing with Jesus!

26th Dec 2006

At the Thadlaboh Presbyterian church the Holy Spirit moved powerfully. Here is a video of three girls who got up and began to play with Jesus.

An Eyewitness Account

26th Dec 2006: We were at the Thadlaboh Presbyterian church last Tuesday. What a powerful time it was! It was amazing to see the hunger people have. By 6:30 in the evening the church was packed with around 600 people. Led by Rev Don and Dr. Plain, the service was lively and surprising as well.
